Sip and set sail with Arthur Beale’s refreshing new Gin

Arthur Beale – one of the UK’s oldest chandlers – has supplied sailing and adventuring equipment to history’s greatest explorers for 500 years, and as they decided to close their doors and adapt as an e-commerce business, we were brought in to help them set sail, and stay afloat.

We were commissioned to rebrand Arthur Beale – to create and launch a new gin which captured Arthur Beale’s spirit of exploration, expertise, and endurance.

Aiming to strike a balance between promoting tradition and aligning the brand with contemporary aesthetics, we created a gin that embodied their rich heritage and captured the wild and unique flavours of the sea. Our Arthur Beale gin is infused with samphire and specially harvested seaweed and conjures up the aromas of the ocean breeze: clean, complex, and vividly fresh.

With the strapline ‘for every adventure’ driving our design, we created an illustrated map of the Endurance Voyage of Sir Ernest Shackleton (a well-known Arthur Beale customer) between 1914 – 1916. The design is placed with purpose on the inside of the bottle’s label to be viewed through (and magnified by) the gin, a nod to seafaring exploits.
