Designing Sonia Boyce OBE’s exhibition catalogue
We were commissioned by Yale University Press to design the talented Sonia Boyce OBE’s exhibition catalogue, and we’re thrilled to share news of this exciting new project with you. Boyce is representing Great Britain at the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.
The exhibition features a major solo display of her new work and runs between 23 April – 27 November 2022. Known for her innovative and experimental art, Boyce uses performance and audio-visual elements across her work, which has become increasingly collaborative as she invites a wide range of participants to come together and speak, sing, or move. Her work is collaborative, inventive and unique and we are thrilled to have worked alongside such an inspiring artist.
When designing Boyce’s catalogue – her artwork was to take centre stage and we chose to weave the gold colours, sharp angles, and geometric patterns featured in her work throughout our designs. Making it a key feature in both the physical and textual exhibition space and mirroring the tone and experience of the powerful installation.
It’s always a pleasure to work with pioneering artists and we’ve loved this project from start to finish.
