Smallpeice Trust is a nationally respected education charity specialising in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) delivering hands-on learning that builds skills, confidence and future pathways for young people aged 8–18.
With a renewed Theory of Change and organisational evolution underway, the Trust had a clear ambition to enhance its impact, broaden its reach and strengthen visibility in a more outcome-driven education landscape. The opportunity was not reinvention, but precision, clarifying its proposition, aligning internal teams and focusing effort where it would deliver the greatest strategic return.

We conducted a comprehensive audit across positioning, communications and channel performance, analysing sector context, competitor activity and audience insight. Stakeholder interviews and internal research ensured the strategy reflected both leadership ambition and operational reality.
The Trust’s reputation was strong. The gap was strategic cohesion. Messaging varied across channels and effort was spread across multiple priorities. What it needed was sharper articulation and strategic focus.

We simplified audience priorities, clarified messaging and established a distinctive tone of voice to ensure consistency and differentiation. Rather than distributing effort broadly, we identified where visibility and engagement would deliver the greatest strategic return.
